Traffic Controller/Cleveland Clinic/$15 P/H

Compensation Hourly base pay range: $15–17 per hour. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM. No weekends required. Seasonal and temporary roles are not eligible for benefits. Summary The Traffic Coordinator efficiently directs vehicular traffic in designated areas while providing exceptional hospitality services. Responsibilities include issuing valet parking tickets, maintaining parking policies, retrieving guest vehicles safely, and assisting guests with luggage when applicable. Essential Functions Direct vehicular traffic and provide friendly, attentive service to patients and guests. Assist marketing department with targeted client efforts. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with all guests and staff. Use guests’ last name and appropriate greetings; employ proper phone etiquette. Assist guests with directions and inquiries, providing area information as needed. Protect guest confidentiality according to HIPAA; collect parking data when applicable. Obtain event and rate information; manage claim checks and guest folio archives. Park and retrieve vehicles promptly and safely; assist with luggage when applicable. Perform other assigned duties. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED; must be at least 18 years old. One to three months of related experience or equivalent education/experience. Knowledge of traffic and valet procedures. Standard English reading, writing, and comprehension skills. Ability to present information one‑on‑one and in small groups. Basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume, and distance. Understanding of 24‑hour and military time systems. Customer service experience preferred. Register and computer experience preferred. Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle and perform parallel parking. Scope The role follows established procedures and guidelines; decisions are made within departmental instructions. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Work is primarily outdoor; requires standing, walking, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, or more than 10 pounds constantly. Workers must adapt to weather conditions and may travel up to 5% of the time.
