Lead Transportation Coordinator - Distribution

Lead Transportation Coordinator position in the Laboratory Chemical Division at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Bridgewater, NJ facility. Coordinate domestic and international shipments, manage fleet operations, and provide operational leadership while ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across transportation functions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate domestic and international outbound shipments with warehouse, carrier, and internal partners
• Monitor transportation activities and resolve shipment delays, documentation issues, and customer escalations
• Manage tanker and railcar fleet operations, track progress, and optimize equipment utilization
• Use transportation systems (AS400, Salesforce, Smartsheet) to manage daily operations
• Support KPIs including on-time delivery, accuracy, compliance, and drive process improvement initiatives

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–2 years transportation, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and business systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
• Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Hazardous materials or dangerous goods certification preferred

Compensation: $23.04–$30.72 per hour
