Transportation Coordinator

Job Summary San Juan Diego Catholic High School is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to oversee daily student transportation and fleet maintenance operations as part of the Corporate Internship Program team. Essential Duties Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school. Acts as a witness to the Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Continuously grow in your ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed. Support and adhere to the Standards of Conduct and to the school's policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters. Safely and effectively provide daily transportation to San Juan Diego Catholic High School students. Supervise driver staff and participate in selecting, training, and appraising drivers. Develop positive relationships with the team and communicate any/all absences/lateness. Conduct accident investigations and supervise accident reports to the appropriate law enforcement and insurance agencies. Record and maintain driver violations and assign corrective action training as needed. Coordinate and develop daily transportation routes and schedule driver coverage of all routes. Coordinate student transportation activities with department heads (i.e. athletics, campus ministry, college counseling). Be responsible for all maintenance, upkeep, and repair of fleet vehicles, including maintaining all records, receipts, and appointments—registration, insurance, tax, repairs, tires, emissions, cleaning, parking, and keys. Train new drivers on transport routes and compliance with fleet safety policy and procedures. Shadow routes to observe driver styles and gain route confidence. Provide feedback to the CIP team and principal on drivers and overall transportation situations. Serve as the point person with the Business Office on all transport‑related vendors and billing. Provide information about the fleet, leading to the purchase of new vehicles and the declaration of vehicles retired/out of service. Be willing and able to drive additional routes if all routes are not covered on a certain day or in an emergency situation. Respond to emergencies as needed. Identify and investigate methods and vendors in order to improve the overall transportation process. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church. Knowledge of instructional methods/strategies and curriculum differentiation. Knowledge of child and adolescent development, learning, and behavior. Knowledge of the content and the methods of religious education. Knowledge of effective assessment methods. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Ability to work well with others in the school community. Ability to work independently and self‑motivate. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding school matters. Ability in handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Skill in organizing and relating information in an understandable format. Skill in using job appropriate technology. Skill in critical thinking and planning. Skill in managing conflicts effectively. Skill in organizational management and delegation of responsibilities. Skill in using group process skills effectively with various school communities. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Must be at least 25 years old. Certifications and Training Valid Texas driver's license. Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period. Working Conditions All employees of the school are engaged in ministry and closely tied to the Principal in the exercise of the Principal's ministry and obligations to the school. The school is an at‑will employer. Working in a fast‑paced environment with priorities and plans that may change rapidly. Working on weekends, evenings, and some holidays may be required. Will be exposed to religious ceremonies, conduct, and speech including Christian prayer and Catholic liturgical celebrations. Staff meetings and other functions may open and close with Christian prayer. Will be required to adhere to established dress codes and conduct standards. All buildings and vehicles owned by the school are tobacco‑free. May be required to use personal or school vehicles to drive to off‑site locations. Traveling within and outside the school to meetings and other events may be required, and travel may include overnight lodging. Must maintain a work schedule that maximizes availability to students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Will be required to work in multiple educational settings. Employee Certification All employees must adhere to the Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct, the Diocese of Austin EIM policies, and the social, ethical, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church as interpreted by the Bishop of Austin. Texas is an “at‑will” employment state.
