Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel We're looking for Respiratory Care professionals for an immediate travel position opening in Newark, OH. The right RT should have 1 year of recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements. Responsibilities Administer to patients a variety of simple and complex respiratory and cardiology modalities. Maintain appropriate patient records/documentation. Cleans, disinfects, assembles, calibrates and maintains respiratory and cardiology equipment and accessories. Evaluates equipment for proper and safe function and reports malfunctions to the director. Performs arterial puncture and analyzes samples according to procedure guidelines. Interacts with co‑workers, nurses, physicians, and other hospital personnel to optimize the continuum of care for the patient being treated. Responds to emergent situations that could require respiratory support. Respiratory Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. They should be able to easily lift 20 pounds, and may need to lift patients up to 50 pounds at times. Respiratory Therapists must have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requirements 1 year of recent acute care experience. BLS certification. ACLS certification. PALS certification may be required in some areas.
