Portfolio Analyst - Boston, MA

A highly respected investment advisory organization is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join its Boston-based investment team. The firm works with a select group of high-net-worth individuals, families, and institutional clients, providing customized investment management, portfolio oversight, and financial advisory services across a broad range of asset classes. This role offers hands-on exposure to portfolio analytics, investment operations, reporting, and portfolio implementation within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a genuine interest in investing and financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain client portfolio data and reporting accuracy
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc investment reporting packages and portfolio analyses
• Support portfolio implementation, reconciliation, and trade execution activities
• Build and maintain portfolio models and investment tracking tools
• Develop customized financial analyses and Excel-based models
• Assist with investment research and portfolio-related projects
• Monitor portfolios for compliance with investment guidelines and internal procedures
• Support internal and regulatory reporting requirements
• Collaborate closely with investment, operations, and client service teams on portfolio-related requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
• 2–4 years of relevant investment, portfolio analytics, reporting, operations, or advisory experience preferred
• Strong understanding of investment products, portfolio theory, and financial markets
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Collaborative mindset with strong professionalism and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with portfolio reporting or investment analytics platforms preferred
• Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar financial systems is a plus
• Understanding of investment performance methodologies including TWR and IRR preferred
• Series 65 completed or willingness to obtain
• CFA program participation encouraged
