Schwing America is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Parts team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving incoming materials, maintaining inventory, pulling and delivering parts to production, and preparing domestic spare parts orders for shipment. Your work is essential to ensuring our production teams receive the materials they need while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Essential Responsibilities- Pull and deliver parts to the production floor according to production schedules.
- Receive, unload, inspect, and process incoming shipments.
- Load and unload trucks and shipping containers using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Package, crate, and prepare domestic spare parts orders for shipment.
- Review shipping schedules, bills of lading, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Determine appropriate packaging methods based on the size and type of shipment.
- Maintain adequate inventory of shipping and packaging supplies.
- Stock incoming inventory and establish locations for new parts within the warehouse.
- Distribute incoming materials to the appropriate departments.
- Notify production leads when incoming materials arrive and fulfill production backorders.
- Work closely with warehouse, shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure efficient material flow.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three years of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or distribution experience .
- Previous forklift experience; certification preferred or the ability to become certified.
- Experience using computers to access inventory, shipping information, and customer orders.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Work approximately 85% of the time inside a manufacturing facility and 15% outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout the workday.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
