We create Best in Class products by leveraging advanced analysis tools, extensive testing regimes, state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and cross-functional agility.The Reliability Engineer's primary duties are to utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products. The Reliability Engineer will define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.A successful candidate will bring curiosity, accountability, and strong experience in requirements definition, test development, validation, data acquisition and statistical analysis to the New Product Development team. The Candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and opportunities to grow.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduct DevelopmentBe a subject matter expert in the New Product Development team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliabilityCollaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needsSupport the product design process including benchmarking and testing of concepts & prototypesLead risk assessments (design & manufacturing) during the product development cycleDesign experimental techniques to improve development and testing effortsTrack multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool processProactively seek out quality improvements for new & existing productsTesting and AnalysisDevelop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirementsEffectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratoriesPerform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test dataSummarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusionsEnsure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)Job RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field with 2-5 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality rolesStrong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as Design of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysisStrong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)Milwaukee Tool is an equal opportunity employer.
