Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll Do:Erect the structural framework for high rise buildings, bridges, power plants and towersPlace reinforcing steel in concrete forms for roadways, foundations and structuresWelding, rigging and machinery movingUse information from a variety of sources in order to select proper materials and the needed amounts for a projectUse details from written plans and instructions from supervisors in order to securely bolt metal structures togetherTransport heavy metal pieces from the ground level to a higher location using tools like cranes or working with other team members to help position pieces correctlyEnsure proper placement, balance and alignment of structural pieces by using levels, laser tools or plumb bobsTransform metal pieces into functional elements by cutting materials and using fabrication techniquesWhat You'll Need:Minimum 1 year working with heavy industrial environment experience preferred but not requiredCommunicate effectively – oral and writtenPossess a strong work ethic and practice safe working habitsMust be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and stepsMust be able to work overtime, either planned or unplanned for emergency situationsMust be able to read technical documents and service manualsMust be able and willing to cross train as requiredMust be able to work outside under all weather conditions to include working in the heat and cold weatherStand for long periods of timePerform the rigorous manual labor required by the trade and have a natural ability to work at high elevationsHave a good sense of balanceFollow the proper OSHA regulationsYour Education:High School Diploma or GED preferredCompletion of an apprenticeship program from the local union hallWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
