Health Information Specialist I Datavant is the data collaboration platform trusted for healthcare. This entry‑level position is responsible for processing all release of information (ROI) requests, specifically medical record requests, in a timely and efficient manner while ensuring accuracy and delivering the highest quality customer service. Position Highlights Location: Rome, GA (onsite) Full‑time: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm EST High‑volume environment Processing medical record requests such as insurance, DDS, workers’ comp, and subpoenas Documenting information across multiple platforms using two computer monitors Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) Preferred Skills Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology Familiarity with various EHR and billing systems Experience working with subpoenas Benefits Comprehensive onsite/virtual training program followed by job shadowing with an assigned mentor Company‑provided equipment (computer, monitor, virtual phone, etc.) Full benefits: PTO, health, vision, dental insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and tuition assistance Responsibilities Receive and process patient health information requests in accordance with company and facility policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information. Maintain working knowledge of company software. Adhere to the company’s code of conduct and policies. Inform manager of workload, site difficulties, and fluctuating volumes. Assist with additional duties as necessary. Consistently apply medical privacy regulations to guard against unauthorized disclosure. Manage patient health records and ensure HIPAA compliance. Prepare new patient charts, gathering documents from paper or electronic sources. Ensure records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete. Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical records. Respond to requests for patient records, both internal and external, retrieving and transmitting them appropriately. Answer inbound/outbound calls. Assist with patient walk‑ins. Handle faxes, open mail, and perform data entry. Meet productivity expectations as outlined for the site. Schedule pick‑ups. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Ability to commute between locations as needed. Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons when required. Basic computer proficiency. Comfortable using phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment. Professional verbal and written communication skills in English. Detail‑ and quality‑oriented, ensuring accurate and compliant medical records. Strong data entry skills. Can work with minimal supervision, responding to changing priorities. Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Bonus Points Experience in a healthcare environment. Previous production or metric‑based work experience. In‑person customer service experience. Ability to build relationships with onsite clients and customers. Comfortable suggesting new ideas, process improvements, and feedback to stakeholders.
