Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown (7N) – Med Surg/Telemetry/PCU
Shift: Nights, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM (12-hour shifts)
Contract: 13 weeks (8/24/2026–11/23/2026)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hrs/week
EMR: Epic
Openings: 4

Requirements

• 2+ years of Stepdown experience (required)
• Experience with:
  • Chest tubes
  • Femstops
  • Trachs
  • Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
  • Drains
  • Central lines
• Comfortable with cardiac drips including:
  • Amiodarone
  • Cardizem
  • Nitro
  • Insulin
  • Heparin
  • Dopamine
  • Dobutamine
  • Isuprel
  • Milrinone
  • Argatroban
  • Some titration required
• BLS & ACLS (AHA)
• Illinois license required at submission
• Driver's license, resume, current skills checklist, certifications, and 1 supervisor reference required
• Not employed by UnityPoint within the past 12 months
• At least one completed travel assignment preferred

Schedule

• Every other weekend
• No call
• Travelers may float within the same discipline across local UnityPoint campuses.

• Level I Trauma Center
• Epic EMR

Radius Rule

• Must have a taxable home address more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the full travel rate

Epic EMROther PCU needs in Quincy, Peoria, Springfield, Galesburg and Rockford.
