ABOUT THE JOB The ACLU seeks applicants for the full‑time position of Paralegal in the Immigrants’ Rights Project of the ACLU’s National office in SanFrancisco, CA . This is a hybrid role that requires two (2) days per office visit per week or an equivalent of eight (8) days per month. WHAT YOU'LL DO Reporting to the Deputy Director , the Paralegal will provide litigation and administrative support to the Immigrants' Rights Project. Responsibilities include preparing litigation documents for filing, responding to legal assistance inquiries, and maintaining case files and records. YOUR DAY TO DAY Produce and file pleadings in federal courts (district court through Supreme Court) and occasionally state courts across the United States. Manage and coordinate databases, case files, and correspondence. Perform general administrative duties: processing invoices, tracking expenses and case costs, preparing expense reports, arranging travel, and ordering supplies. Research and analyze court rules, relevant litigation, and factual issues where appropriate. Serve as liaison with co‑counsel and clients. Respond to intake calls, emails, and letters from individuals seeking assistance. Occasionally draft materials for dissemination to the public or IRP supporters. Engage in special projects and additional duties assigned by IRP leadership and attorneys. FUTURE ACLU'ERS WILL Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU. Ability to work independently and within a team while maintaining high efficiency and professionalism. Bachelor’s degree or at least one year of related administrative experience (preferred). Experience providing administrative support and/or project management (preferred). Fluency in Spanish and other relevant foreign languages is preferred but not required. COMPENSATION The annual salary for this position is $81,166 ( LevelK ), based on the salary for a NewYork‑location role. Salaries may be adjusted for regional differences if authorized.
