Services are available to more than 126,000 veterans living in 22 counties in Western Maryland, West Virginia, South Central Pennsylvania, and Northwest Virginia.ResponsibilitiesShall perform medical technician duties and manage patient's needs as described in the (PD), identified by the Service Unit and as directed by Supervisor.Shall perform in accordance with the competency standards.Shall provide professional medical services or direct patient care services as follows: - Perform moderate and high complexity analytical patient testing in all areas of the clinical Laboratory to include Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, and Specimen preparation following internal Policies and Guidelines.Perform phlebotomy on infants, children, adult, and geriatric patients using proper phlebotomy techniques.Perform quality control and preventative maintenance on laboratory analyzers as mandated by Pinon Health Center Laboratory Policies.Accession lab orders and result lab test in EHR/RPMS (LIS) ensuring completeness in data entry.Process reference Laboratory samples following internal Policies and specimen processing requirements of reference Laboratory.Capable of taking remedial action, when necessary, following policies and procedures regarding "Out of Control" quality control or analyzer problems.Requirements/QualificationsMust be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) or an equivalent MT, MLS, or CLS certification with appropriate training and a minimum of two years of experience. (MTs are not required to be board certified, only certified as an MT, MLS or CLS by the ASCP or AMT).Required to have a BS from an accredited college or university in medical laboratory science, medical technology, clinical laboratory, or related science.Must have a completion of medical technology, clinical practice program and have all licenses, permits, and certifications as required by law.Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a generalist.Must have proof of updated and complete vaccinations.KurzSolutions is committed to improving health outcomes by providing well-managed companies with the top healthcare talent in the market.
