We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist/Payroll Specialist for our office in Keene NH. The position will work within the office and manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource function. The Human Resource Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, recruiting, legal issues, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, policies and procedures and employee records/files.Job Functions: PayrollResponsible for processing weekly in-house payroll for 120 – 160 employeesOversees and reviews remote time entryEnters office and salaried timeProcess, review and issue weekly employee paychecks and statements of earningsPrepares various payroll reports for management, accounting and corporateTransmits direct deposit, 401k and agency paymentsMaintains electronic employee cardsMaintains payroll records and reports to ensure accurate and compliant recordkeepingProcesses special payrolls as neededMonthly benefit billing for all providersPrepare Certified Payroll filings as requiredManages vacation accrualsRecruiting (Nonexecutive)Works with hiring managers to identify attributes of ideal applicant and develop strategies for filling vacancies.Posts vacancy notices in a timely manner and targeted to high quality applicantsReviews resumes and recommends candidates to hiring manager for reviewSuggest and administer recruitment strategiesLegal IssuesEmployment and Labor LawNeeds to be a good listener to pick up on issues from employees and identify them as potential legal issues, escalating them to the Operating Unit President (OUP).Work closely with OUP and GMs to address legal issues related to terminations, employee conduct, policy implementation and others.Monitors compliance with state, federal and local labor laws.Policies and ProceduresWorks with the OUP and GMs to develop and maintain the employee handbookAnswers questions on policy interpretation and implementationMonitors compliance with corporate policies as it relates to hiring, termination and compensation.Files and RecordkeepingMaintains employee personnel files for completeness and inclusion of appropriate recordsPerform an initial review of the HR office filing systemEmployee RelationsWork closely with General Managers to assist them with employee issues, including hiring, termination, discipline, performance conversations, etc.Build trust and relationships with all levels of the organization.Respond quickly to questions and requests for assistance.Assist employees with annual benefits renewal process and periodic changesKnowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related disciplineStrong verbal and written communication skills, at ease with all Microsoft software programsExperience performing computerized payroll processing4 to 5 years' experience administering and implementing human resource programsStrong analytical skills, comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheetsAbility to build relationships, be trustworthy and interact with all levels of employeesAbility to manage by influence rather than by rules and policiesAbility to multi-task essential dutiesWillingness to learn and serve as back-up for additional dutiesAbility to travel to other operating units occasionallyThe Melanson Company, a Tecta America Company, Benefits include:Comprehensive benefit packageMedical, dental, visionCompany matching 401(k)PTOPaid HolidaysTecta America is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
