MTEK has an immediate need for an electrical designer to work in the Treutlen County Georgia facility.

The candidate is expected to be able to work efficiently as part a team as well as individually. The duties will include electrical design of power plant modular buildings. Customer interaction will be required as part of the duties.

Job Description

The qualified candidate’s primary responsibility will be the design and engineering of electrical power building modules used in the power generation industry. This role requires excellent communication skills. The selected candidate will have daily communication with internal staff as well as, to a lesser degree, clients. Candidate must have extensive knowledge of Basic Electrical Building Systems and of electrical schematics.

Duties and Responsibilities

As Design Engineer, the successful candidate will be fully competent in the following specific duties:

• Performing Electrical Design Calculations
• Conductor sizing
• Circuit breaker sizing
• Power requirements for buildings
• Power requirements for generators
• Proficient in AutoCad
• Proficient in Excel
• Proficient in Word
• Preparing Production Drawings
• Able to work in a fast paced environment
• Coordinating Electrical Requirements with mechanical team members

Qualifications

• (4) Year BS degree in Electrical Engineering
• (2) Year Associate degree in electrical or electronics plus 4+ years of experience

Job Duties Include:

• Ability to review and understand specifications
• Ability to pick out items in specifications that need clarification
• Ability to draft submittal documents
• Ability to draft response submittal comments documents
• Ability to resolve submittal comments and respond appropriately
• Ability to draft electrical drawings AC Schematics
• Ability to draft electrical drawings DC Schematics
• Ability to develop wiring diagrams and connection documents
• Ability to develop AC CB Schedule and balance loads
• Ability to discuss electrical questions on projects from project engineers
• Ability do develop CB Package drawings
• Ability to size cable runs per NEC
• Ability to size cables and stress cones for medium voltage cables
• Ability to design basic PLC based control panels
• Ability to develop load bank drawings and bom's
• Ability to design load bank controls basic control
• Ability to design load bank controls auto load
• Ability to design load bank controls regen
• Ability to develop plc programs and troubleshoot programming
• Ability to develop modbus communication package for plc based controls
• Ability to create test reports for genset builds
• Ability to create test reports for load banks
• Ability to Develop PDF submittal data sheets
