Ontic's Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. Our team is looking for a Delivery Assurance Specialist to join our team at Chatsworth, CA location. The Delivery Assurance Specialist supports the resolution of material shortages that impact business needs by collaborating with cross-functional teams. This position works closely with internal stakeholders including Program Management, Operations, and Procurement to coordinate and monitor the flow of materials, ensuring alignment and supporting on-time delivery to production. The role focuses on tracking, communication, and follow-up activities, contributing to effective cross-functional coordination and timely issue resolution.

Delivery Assurance Main Responsibilities:
  • Support resolution of critical part shortages by coordinating with cross-functional teams and assisting with escalation activities as needed.
  • Participate in daily/weekly shortage review meetings with Buyers, Production Planners, and Master Schedulers.
  • Partner with Buyers to support execution of purchase requisitions and purchase orders while helping identify potential risks to delivery schedules.
  • Assist in prioritizing, expediting, and tracking delivery of critical components from suppliers, outside processes, and shipping channels to support production schedules.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Supplier Performance teams to help address quality, delivery, or performance issues.
  • Provide regular updates to cross-functional teams on material status, recovery actions, and delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate across Value Streams to support alignment and help remove roadblocks to material flow.
  • Maintain and update shortage reports, such as Line of Balance (LOB) reviews and Open Order Reports (OOR), including status updates and risk visibility.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for recurring material delivery issues.
  • Work with Quality, Receiving, and Inspection teams to help resolve material holds or nonconformances.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on supply continuity and supplier delivery performance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • 35 years of experience in Supply Chain, expediting, or Delivery Assurance roles within aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, ERP/MRP systems, and material planning concepts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-demand production environment.
  • Excellent communication, follow-through, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret production schedules, PO data, and inventory reports.
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability; comfortable managing multiple high-priority issues simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Visual, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality standards is a plus
  • Experience in supplier relationship management or delivery recovery projects.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand special process requirements, including customer-specific flow downs.
