Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse

Provides specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU, ensuring optimal health outcomes through expert clinical practices and compassionate patient support. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive neonatal care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor neonatal patients’ health status regularly to identify changes or concerns.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and NICU protocols.
• Utilize advanced neonatal assessment skills, including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate procedures.
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
• Educate family members on neonatal care, procedures, and health management.
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards, including nicotine-free policies for applicable staff.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid and active Ohio license or compact state license at the time of application.
• Have a minimum of 18 months recent and permanent NICU experience.
• Hold current certifications such as BLS in good standing.
• Demonstrate experience with ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety protocols.
• Provide at least one recent managerial reference from within the past 12 months in the NICU specialty.
• Ability to pass an ECG rhythm and safeMedicate assessment during orientation.
