Solar & Energy Storage Commissioning SpecialistGreentech Renewables is a solar equipment distributor and distributes a full range of solar equipment to thousands of contractors throughout the United States, Caribbean, and Latin America, enabling solar installers to easily and cost-effectively design, sell, and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. We are seeking a detail-oriented Solar & Energy Storage Commissioning Specialist to lead the start-up, testing, documentation, and operational handoff of utility-scale and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the United States. This role ensures installed equipment is safely commissioned, performed as designed, and is transitioned to qualified site operators with complete, accurate project records.Reports to: Director of EngineeringMinimum Qualifications:Experience commissioning, starting up, troubleshooting, or operating solar PV, BESS, electrical power systems, industrial controls, or similar energy infrastructureWorking knowledge of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, low- and medium-voltage equipment, protection and controls, communications networks, and SCADA systemsAbility to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics, construction drawings, test procedures, and technical manualsStrong documentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; ability to prepare accurate reports and turnover packagesAbility to travel extensively throughout the United States, potentially for extended project assignments. Ability to work safely in active construction and industrial environments, including walking sites, climbing stairs/ladders as needed, and working outdoors in varying weather conditionsValid driver's license and ability to meet company travel requirementsAdditional Competencies:Organized, self-directed, and able to manage priorities in fast-paced field environments.Strong communication skills and a professional approach to working with customers, contractors, vendors, and internal project teams.Preferred Qualifications:Electrical, instrumentation, controls, or renewable-energy technical training.OSHA, NFPA 70E, first aid/CPR, or similar safety certificationsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 ConstructionExperience with commissioning management systems, quality control processes, or turnover documentationWorking Conditions:Extensive travel throughout the United StatesRemote work on a small team, with multiple weekly check-insWork standard business hours of 8am to 5pm within your time zone or within the time zone of the Division assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: NoEssential Job Functions:Travel nationally to solar PV and BESS project sites to support commissioning, energization, and turnover activities.Review construction status, drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, controls documentation, and commissioning plans before site mobilization.Coordinate with project management, construction teams, equipment vendors, utilities, engineering partners, and site owners to plan and execute commissioning activities.Perform or oversee functional testing and start-up of solar inverters, battery systems, power conversion systems, medium-voltage equipment, SCADA/communications systems, meteorological stations, and associated balance-of-plant equipment.Verify equipment installation, labeling, wiring, settings, communications, alarms, interlocks, and protective functions against approved documentation and project requirements.Identify, document, track, and support resolution of commissioning deficiencies, punch-list items, and equipment issues.Collect, organize, and validate commissioning records, test reports, equipment settings, as-built documentation, warranties, and turnover packages.Develop and maintain clear commissioning checklists, test procedures, daily reports, site logs, and final handoff documentation.Support training and formal turnover to qualified operators, including review of system operation, alarms, safety requirements, maintenance considerations, and emergency procedures.Promote a strong safety culture and comply with all site, company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $90000 to $100000 annually.Other Compensation:The following additional compensation may be applicable for this position:BonusBenefits: Benefits available for this position are:401(k) (18 or older)Paid Sick Leave (Full-Time)Paid Sick Leave (Part-Time) - per your State's requirementsInsurance (Full-Time) - Medical, Dental, Vision CareInsurance (Part-Time) - Medical only (30+ hours/week)Disability InsuranceLife InsurancePaid HolidaysPaid VacationPaid Pregnancy & New Parent LeaveHealth Savings Account (HSA) and matchingDependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)Teledoc Consolidated Electrical Distributors
