The Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln is seeking to fill a W3 Professorship in Horn for the winter semester of 2027/28. Candidates should be internationally recognized with a strong artistic profile, excellent communication skills, and outstanding teaching qualifications. The role involves teaching the main subject of Horn across its stylistic breadth and representing the Horn department at the institution. Applicants must have a completed higher education degree in Horn or an equivalent artistic qualification, extensive experience in a prestigious cultural orchestra, and proven teaching experience at the university level. Responsibilities include weekly student supervision, participation in academic governance, involvement in examinations and curriculum development, and active participation in the artistic life of the school, including performances and competitions. Proficiency in German or a commitment to learn the language within two years, along with good English skills, is also required. The position is initially for two years under a private law employment contract.
