ED Paramedic

Position Summary As an ED Paramedic in the PCH‑NW Emergency Department, you will assist in implementing care plans and providing direct patient care pursuant to approved protocols and standing orders, working under the direction of the Administrative Medical Director. Position Duties Perform patient care interventions, including medication administration, in alignment with state scope of practice and tasks approved by Phoenix Children’s and the Administrative Medical Director. Conduct focused assessments of interventions as appropriate, complete documentation, and alert the healthcare team of abnormalities. Provide orientation to unit policies, hospital systems, and processes for patients and family members. Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing required activities within established parameters to ensure compliance with medication, storage, and documentation standards, regulations, and requirements. Participate in in‑service programs, meetings, and rounds as indicated. Perform activities that maintain the department’s environment and meet patient care needs. Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as requested. Qualifications Education Completion of a high‑school diploma or equivalent. Experience Minimum 1 year of experience as an EMT or paramedic. Additional Requirements Current Arizona Paramedic certification or ability to obtain prior to start date. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or the ability to obtain prior to start date. Current PALS certification or ability to obtain within 9 months of start date. Current ACLS certification.
