In this full-time, remote position, you will work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of our school community. While your primary interactions will take place virtually, you will also have opportunities to conduct on-campus visits when necessary, ensuring that you remain engaged with students and staff.   • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ psychosocial needs, integrating evaluations of emotional, mental, and social factors affecting their academic performance.

  • Collaborate with students and their families to devise individualized intervention plans that align with educational and personal goals.

  • Provide counseling and emotional support to students and their families, guiding them through transitions, crises, and personal challenges.
  • \n
  • Advocate for students’ rights and assist in navigating access to necessary resources and services within the community.
  • \n
  • Engage in regular meetings with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers, school nurses, and administrative staff, to coordinate holistic support for students.

  • Monitor student well-being through virtual check-ins, on-site visits, and ongoing communication with parents and teachers.

  • Facilitate conflict resolution among family members and stakeholders involved in a student’s educational process.
  • \n
  • Educate families about community resources, support groups, and programs to enhance students' social engagement and overall quality of life.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, care plans, and all relevant interactions in compliance with state and federal regulations.

  • Stay updated on current best practices in social work and educational policies to ensure the highest quality of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses on supporting students within the educational system, particularly those experiencing challenges that may impede their academic success. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse student population, including those who may be dealing with trauma, anxiety, learning disabilities, or behavioral issues.

Qualifications\n

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • \n
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical social work position, preferably within an educational or community-focused environment.

  • Strong understanding of social work ethics, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies applicable to children and adolescents.
  • \n
  • Exceptional communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and rapport-building.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and remote communication tools, facilitating efficient service delivery.

  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly in a remote or supportive learning context.

  • Knowledge of community resources specific to Newark, New Jersey, and the ability to assist families in accessing those resources.

Compensation and Benefits\n
