Overview Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for a Full Time, DAY shift in Williamsburg, VA. This role will be supporting the Inpatient Surgical Unit/Post Surgery. Job Details City/State: Williamsburg, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Responsibilities The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, monitors vital signs, assists with mobility and ambulation, performs phlebotomy, point‑of‑care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, Foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the RN nurse. The technician observes patients’ physical, mental and emotional conditions and documents in a timely and accurate manner while reporting any changes to the nurse or medical staff. Education High School Graduate or equivalent Completion of one of the following: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), US Navy Hospital Corps School, emergency services training (EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic), current enrollment in a clinical program (RN, LPN, RT, PT) with at least one semester completed, or work experience within the last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
