Camp Director, Waypoint Academy - $150,000/year USD
$150kCrossover
On‑site role at Waypoint Academy, Dripping Springs, Texas. $150,000 annual salary as W2 employee with weekly pay. Health benefits begin day one. Relocation assistance provided. The greatest gift you can give a young person is a difficult task and the refusal to do it for them. If that statement troubles you, this isn't your role. If it resonates, read on. Waypoint Academy runs its core academics through self‑paced, AI‑driven adaptive software that condenses the school day into a concentrated morning block. No classroom lectures. This structure frees your time for the work that truly shifts a student's path. Your mornings may begin with a one‑on‑one session alongside a Guide, analyzing student metrics to identify where a group is struggling. By midday, you're outside facilitating a workshop that builds teamwork and grit through authentic challenges. Afternoons turn to motivational work: meeting individually with students, uncovering what motivates them, and helping a disengaged kid find direction. You manage your own cohort throughout, keeping your coaching grounded in real‑time practice. You've likely been the misfit in traditional education: too metric‑oriented, too outcome‑focused, too comfortable taking students outside to face difficulty. This may be the first environment where you belong. You begin coaching other Guides immediately, and as you produce outcomes, the benchmark you establish spreads across the entire cohort and your authority within the program expands. You witness the impact directly: a doubtful student who begins taking ownership of their growth, a Guide who sharpens because you gave honest feedback, a young person who emerges from the field more competent than when they entered. Maintain the standard. Get them outdoors. Apply today. What You Will Be Doing Develop the Guides working with you: analyze performance metrics, observe their interactions with students, and conclude each session with concrete actions that address performance gaps. Facilitate one‑hour outdoor workshops focused on life skills, where students in grades K‑12 develop leadership, grit, collaboration, and communication through challenge‑based activities. Conduct motivational sessions leveraging student analytics and Coachbot insights to ensure every student advances toward their objectives and takes ownership of their development. Maintain your own student cohort while mentoring other Guides, ensuring your coaching stems from active experience rather than outdated recollection. Monitor student satisfaction, objective completion, and Guide effectiveness on a weekly basis to identify underperformance early. What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering lectures or providing academic tutoring. Students progress through self‑directed adaptive platforms, frequently without direct adult supervision. Creating curriculum or lesson plans from the ground up. The frameworks are established; your focus is execution fidelity and enthusiasm, not innovation. Training Guides on instructional methods. Since Guides don't lecture, you'll coach on motivation, accountability, and presence with students. Compromising standards to avoid conflict. You will not advance a student prematurely or overlook a Guide's poor performance. Confining students to indoor, seated learning. A significant portion of education here occurs outside through experiential challenge.
