Credentialing Specialist Job Location: DHA CCVO (Credentialing) - San Antonio, TX 78216. Position Type: Full Time. Education Level: Not Specified. Travel Percentage: None. Job Shift: Day. Bestica is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to provide support to our Federal client in San Antonio, TX. The Defense Health Agency Centralized Credentials Verification Office (DHACCVO) provides a turn‑key operation for credentialing support to the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) and Navy Medical Treatment Facilities. The role involves gathering required credentials, performing Primary Source Verification (PSV) of applicable credentials, conducting databank queries, and entering all data into the Joint Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (JCCQAS). The position also supports credentialing and privileging decisions for AFMS, AFRS, AFPC, ARPC, AFRC, ANG recruiters, and Navy MTFs. Responsibilities Designate DHA and AFMS agent to gather credentialing information, perform PSV of healthcare professionals’ credentials, affiliation, and work history verifications, and conduct databank queries. Complete written PSV documentation capturing the required components in accordance with DHA PM 6025.13, vol 4 and DAFI 44-119. Review credentialing applications, conduct follow‑up to obtain missing credentials or information, perform verifications, create provider credentialing records within JCCQAS, and maintain the JCCQAS record. Contact medical office staff, educational institutions, employers, licensing and certifying agencies to obtain and complete verification of credentials. Obtain required credentials and complete PSV of the credentials from the originating source or designated agent; date‑stamp the documentation upon receipt. Update the appropriate screens within JCCQAS to capture the credential and PSV of the credential, convert documentation to PDF, scan, appropriately name, and upload the documentation to the provider’s electronic credentials file. Complete credentialing tasks routed to the DHACCVO for action and appropriately update the provider’s electronic file. Qualifications Three (3) years of experience in medical credentialing, including knowledge of the credentialing and privileging process, required credentials for healthcare professionals, appropriate sources for PSV, work history verifications, and databank queries. One (1) year of credentialing experience with the DoD utilizing JCCQAS.
