Summer Internship ProgramThis is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.First Citizens Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Come help First Citizens build for the future!We are looking for candidates who are within a commutable drivable distance to our Raleigh, NC office.Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Perform accounting, financial analysis, and support for the accounting function of the Bank.Review financial transactions, prepare reports, and perform account reconcilements both manually and through the technical accounting system in accordance with accounting policies.Learn from various groups within the Accounting Department including General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable and Reconcilement and assists in special projects, audits, and other accounting initiatives as needed.Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects.Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship.Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internshipInternship dates: 5/24/27 - 7/30/27Position Specific Skills:AdaptabilityCommunication (Written & Verbal)Critical Thinking SkillsRequired qualifications:High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experienceCurrently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the programPreferred qualifications:Rising junior or senior with a focus of Study in Accounting, Audit, or Financial AnalysisExperience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Microsoft Applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint3.0 minimum GPAStrong desire to learn and growPossess a positive attitude, naturally curious and enjoys collaborating with othersStrong verbal and written communication skillsCritical thinking skillsAbility to multitaskAbility to adapt and adjust priorities based on business needsAbility to take direction and absorb information quickly
