Mobile Engineering ManagerJob Summary
The Mobile Engineering Manager leads a team of iOS and Android engineers responsible for developing and supporting mobile applications. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, technical strategy, software development, and delivery ownership. The ideal candidate has experience shipping production mobile applications and driving integrations across APIs, cloud services, databases, and connected technologies.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mobile engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
• Define technical direction, roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery for mobile application initiatives.
• Contribute directly through coding, architecture design, prototyping, code reviews, troubleshooting, and development of complex features.
• Drive application architecture and integrations across mobile platforms, APIs, cloud services, databases, third-party systems, and connected devices.
• Partner with Product, UX, Engineering, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality mobile experiences.
• Establish and maintain best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, security, monitoring, documentation, and production support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, communicate timelines, and ensure successful project execution.
• Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing and supporting production mobile applications.
• Experience leading, managing, or mentoring software engineers.
• Strong expertise in iOS and/or Android development, with familiarity across both platforms.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, including authentication, authorization, versioning, and error handling.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and database technologies.
• Experience integrating mobile applications with connected devices and external systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of modern software development practices, including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, security, monitoring, and production support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern mobile development technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, or React Native.
• Experience developing connected products, IoT solutions, or mobile applications that interact with hardware devices.
• Backend development experience, including API and cloud service development.
• Experience integrating identity platforms, push notifications, marketing technologies, and third-party services.
