About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 Year Required License: Active Compact License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Previous Charge Experience Preferred - Community Hospital Experience Required - Travel Experience Required Description: All previous permanent employees must be separated for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position. First-time travelers are not accepted. Candidates must be open to floating to different locations. Weekends are required: Every other weekend. Typical emergency department patients include adults and pediatrics. The department features 11 hallway beds and a total of 40 beds. Responsibilities include administering breathing treatments, chest tube setup and care, and managing CPAP/BiPAP. Additional duties involve procedure sedation, rapid sequence intubation, trach care, and ventilator management. Blood and blood products administration, cardioversion, and defibrillation are also required. The ability to obtain a 12 Lead EKG and use a rapid infuser is needed. Shift schedules are posted every 6 weeks. The department supports respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. Daily census averages 115 patients. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Candidates should have experience with various emergency procedures, including trauma care and triage. References are required covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years. Modules for compliance training must be completed pre-start and annually. Time spent on modules is self-reported.
