Maintenance Manager

The role leads a second-shift maintenance team (M-F 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM) overseeing complex food equipment—including standalone spiral freezers, Handtmann/Vemag portioners, packaging lines, and industrial robotics—while driving CMMS integration, LOTO compliance, and equipment reliability. Location: Northvale, NJ (On-Site) Shift: Second/ Evening Shift (M-F 4:00 PM – 1:30 AM, plus weekend emergency availability) Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire Industry Focus: Food Manufacturing & Processing PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES – CORE COMPETENCIES Extensive knowledge of the following production equipment: Tunnel Freezers Tromp Laminating Lines – Dough Sheeting Cooking Equipment Cleveland Kettles Fryers (Heat and Control Mastermatic) Packaging Equipment Cleaning Equipment Rackwashers (Somengil) Work closely with Operations/Production and Engineering to help achieve production targets without compromising safety, food quality, or reliability. Execute and support the preventive maintenance program in collaboration with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance. Track, report on, and help improve maintenance KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and Equipment Reliability (ER), in collaboration with the Director of Engineering & Maintenance. Promote and participate in a culture focused on effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) execution. Oversee the safe maintenance, repair, replacement, installation, and startup of production equipment. Coordinate and oversee external contracting work for installations, repairs, and maintenance. Maintain and strengthen OEM and vendor relationships for critical spare parts, repairs, and service of equipment. Support the spare parts inventory program, including establishing and maintaining min/max levels for critical components. Available to respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues, equipment failures, facility-related incidents, and major breakdowns. Available to attend to work on requested weekends, based on the needs of the organization. Support the full integration and daily use of the CMMS system, ensuring accurate work order documentation and improving the maintenance team's user experience. Conduct daily follow-ups with the maintenance team after plant huddles. Facilitate repairs as well as scheduled preventive maintenance work. Improve coordination between shifts by participating in daily meetings to ensure smooth shift-to-shift transitions. Generate and distribute end-of-shift reports daily upon completion of the shift. Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of maintenance technicians. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety (GMP), sanitation, and applicable regulatory requirements, including the safe use of food-grade materials and lubricants. Enforce safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. #J-18808-Ljbffr Stevenson Staffing LLC
