You would obtain high quality MRI's to assist the providers and patients in their decision-making and contribute to the care journey for our many patients. A Day in the Life Operate high field strength magnets and related equipment to produce radiographic images of patients’ specific body parts; Operate a Magnetic Resonance (MR) scanner to obtain images used by physicians, determine appropriate imaging techniques, and operate console and peripheral hardware; Screen patients for MR safety, explain the MRI process and address patient concerns prior to performing scanning; Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment to comply with government regulations and ensure patient and staff safety; Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images and sequence of exposure and label appropriately; Document imaging performed, appropriate charges and other necessary information in patients’ electronic medical records and Patient Archive Communication System (PACS); Maintain quality control measures in accordance with American College of Radiology guidelines; Follow quality assurance guidelines including positioning, markers, demographics, and coning to ensure optimal images before releasing image to physician; Prepare radiology department daily including cleaning, stocking, and sanitizing work areas and equipment. Certifications/Education MRI Technologist Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT; Knowledge of: MRI and radiology safety procedures and protocols; HIPAA and OSHA regulations/procedures; Experience: Using computer systems and applications, including radiology software; Communicating effectively with patients, physicians and other medical staff. This position operates in a clinical environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, biohazards, toxic substances, and similar conditions are possible. Schedule: May include nights and weekends (Saturday); schedule is based on manager discretion. Travel: This position may require travel to other clinic locations based on manager discretion.
