Job Opportunity – PACU Registered Nurse – Michigan

Schedule: Full-time position with on-call and weekend responsibilities

Highlights:

• Provide post-anesthesia care with continuous patient monitoring and airway management
• Manage post-operative symptoms including pain control and medication administration
• Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
• On-call and weekend shifts required as part of rotation

Key Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, and level of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia
• Ensure patent airway and adequate respiratory function with immediate intervention for obstruction or respiratory distress
• Administer medications for pain management, anti-nausea treatment, and fluid replacement to maintain patient comfort
• Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, check dressings, and perform comprehensive physical assessments
• Recognize and respond to adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery with appropriate emergency interventions
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation and communicate effectively with the surgical care team

Requirements:

• Active Michigan RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience (required)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
