Entomology Lab Technician & Research Specialist

Job Responsibilities: Collaborate with researchers and contribute to the design and implementation of experiments related to entomology and nematology. Monitor and record environmental conditions in laboratories, greenhouses, and insectary colonies to ensure optimal conditions for experiments. Assist in the development and optimization of new laboratory procedures and protocols. Conduct literature reviews to stay updated on the latest advancements in entomology and nematology research. Assist in the identification and classification of insect species using microscopy and other relevant techniques. Participate in the maintenance and breeding of insect colonies for experimental purposes. Support data analysis efforts by organizing and managing experimental data. Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications, reports, and presentations. Actively engage in continuous learning and skill development to enhance expertise in entomology and nematology. Provide training and guidance to new laboratory personnel and interns. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Entomology and/or Nematology. Previous laboratory experience is preferred. Ability to work in various environments and stand for long periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to perform routine tasks with precision. Willingness to work with insects, plant materials, and nematodes. Adherence to safety and ergonomic standards. Ability to follow laboratory SOPs and protocols.
