Position Overview

Hours: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - work for 36 hour and get paid for 40 hours.

8A-8P

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating all inbound and outbound shipments for a fast-paced aluminum recycling foundry. This role ensures accurate documentation, proper material handling, and smooth logistics flow between production, warehouse, and transportation partners.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working around molten metal, scrap aluminum, and heavy industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process all shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, weight tickets, and load sheets.

• Coordinate inbound scrap aluminum deliveries and outbound finished aluminum shipments.

• Verify material weights, grades, and quantities using scales, foundry documentation, and banding aluminum ingets in a cold room.

• Communicate with carriers, drivers, and internal departments to schedule pickups and deliveries

• Inspect incoming loads for accuracy, contamination, and safety compliance.

• Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, finished goods, and recycled aluminum.

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or material-handling equipment to move product as needed

• Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and staging of materials for shipment

• Maintain a clean, organized shipping area in compliance with foundry safety standards

• Assist with cycle counts, inventory audits, and production reporting

Requirements

• Prior experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or foundry/recycling operations

• Ability to read and complete shipping documents, weight tickets, and inventory forms

• Strong computer skills (data entry, email, basic ERP or inventory software)

• Forklift certification or ability to become certified

• Ability to work in a hot, industrial environment around heavy equipment

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Reliable, safety-minded, and able to communicate clearly with drivers and production staff

Preferred Experience

• Experience in metal recycling, foundry operations, or manufacturing
• Knowledge of aluminum grades, scrap types, or melt processes
• Familiarity with DOT regulations and carrier scheduling
