This unit cares for adult acute care medical-surgical post-operative patients. Primarily focused on orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, thoracic/vascular, general surgery, trauma, and medicine. Patients may present with conditions requiring chest tube maintenance, insulin drips, heparin drips, and tracheostomy care. Daily patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 for day shifts and 1:5 for night shifts. Flexibility with scheduling is required, including working weekends as needed. Strong experience in a similar setting is required. Charting will be completed using Epic. Interdisciplinary support services will be available, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The candidate should be proficient in basic nursing skills and specific procedures related to the specialties mentioned. This role may require floating to other acute care units within the facility.
