The Building Maintenance Technician supports the daily operations of residential properties by performing repairs, preventive maintenance, and safety inspections. This role ensures buildings remain safe, functional, and well-maintained for tenants and visitors.

Serves Laramie County by providing affordable housing options, housing choice vouchers (Section 8), and community resources.

Building Maintenance Technician Details:

• Direct hire position
• $20.00/hour
• Full time work available
• First shift (Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm)

• General: perform routine repairs on doors, windows, flooring, drywall, locks, and fixtures
• HVAC: replace filters, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with licensed technicians when needed for both residential and commercial HVAC systems
• Plumbing: address leaks, clogs, running toilets, and minor pipe repairs for both residential and commercial plumbing systems
• Electrical: replace outlets, switches, lighting, and troubleshoot minor electrical issues
• Preventive: conduct scheduled inspections of building systems, equipment, and common areas
• Safety: ensure fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety equipment meet code requirements
• Groundskeeping: maintain exterior areas including snow removal, landscaping support, and debris cleanup
• Tenant: respond to maintenance requests promptly and professionally, providing excellent customer service
• Recordkeeping: maintain accurate logs of completed work, inspections, and supply inventory

Building Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license in good standing
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Demonstrated technical knowledge in general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC basics
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, capable of interacting effectively
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods
