Summary A registered pharmacy technician is someone other than a licensed pharmacist or pharmacy intern that performs pharmacy tasks and duties as delegated by a licensed pharmacist that do not fall within the purview of Florida Statue 465.003(13). All such delegated acts will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist who is responsible for all such acts performed by persons under his or her supervision as outlined in Florida Statue 465.014. Job Components Medication Order Processing and Medication Record Review Fulfilling Medication Orders Non-sterile and sterile compounding of both nonhazardous and hazardous medications Prepares and delivers medication ensuring proper storage location requirements are met based on the stability needs of the product. The locations include: automated dispensing units or dedicated storage areas, including controlled substances and department stock supplies (exchange carts). Performs routine quality assurance tasks, including checking extemporaneously manufactured medications, commercially available medications, I.V. solutions and equipment for expiration dates, recalls, or signs of deterioration. Receives medications and supplies in accordance with inventory control, purchasing policies and/or per clinical trial requirements for investigational medications. Required Credentials High School Diploma/GED Must have graduated from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or have experience that qualifies them for licensure as outlined in Florida Statutes, Section 465.014 Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT/RPT) 2 years as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with a minimum of 2 years' experience of each of the following (1 year if Moffitt team member): Unit dose, Pharmacy orders and inventory computer systems, and/or Investigational or REMS medication management and Pharmacy automation software systems, equipment and electronic health records (EHR) and Preparation of sterile intravenous medications, which may include hazardous and/or investigational medications used for the treatment of cancer with competent understanding of current USP clean room practices and GCP guidelines and/or inventory management of investigational/controlled/specialty medications Equal Employment Opportunity Moffitt Cancer Center is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
