Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails has been a fixture on Central Avenue since 2016. We're an all-day European-inspired café and bar — coffee in the morning, cocktails at night, and a warm, unhurried atmosphere in between. Behind every smooth shift is a bar that's stocked, clean, and ready. That's this role.

A great Bar Back is invisible in the best possible way — the bar is always stocked, the glassware is always clean, the ice is always there, and the bartenders never have to ask. You're the reason service runs smoothly, and the team knows it.

This is a behind-the-bar support role, but it's not a passive one. You'll be active, present, and essential to how Intermezzo operates on any given night.

• Stock and restock the bar throughout service — anticipate needs before they become problems
• Manage glassware — polishing, organizing, and keeping supply ahead of demand
• Maintain ice levels and ensure the bar is never caught short
• Prep garnishes to spec ahead of and during service
• Keep the bar and surrounding areas clean and organized from open to close
• Complete opening and closing duties with care and consistency
• Support bartenders during service — read the pace of the shift and step in where needed
• Learn the fundamentals of the espresso bar — Bar Backs at Intermezzo are cross-trained as baristas and expected to support the café program when needed

• Some prior bar or hospitality experience preferred; coffee experience a plus
• Willingness to learn espresso bar fundamentals — this role is cross-trained as a barista
• Detail-oriented and proactive — you notice what's needed before being asked
• Physically capable of staying on your feet and moving with purpose for a full shift
• A team-first attitude — you take pride in making the people around you better at their jobs
• Must be 21 or older
• Weekend availability required

• $12+/hour (commensurate with experience) + tips (Avg. $12/hr)
• Part-time and full-time positions available
• St. Petersburg, Florida
