THE ROLE:The AMD NBIO Team is on the lookout for a dynamic, upbeat Validation Design Manager to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD’s IP, you will be leading a team to drive and improve AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. You will work directly with Senior Staff, Directors, Program Managers and other Managers to ensure high-quality, on-time IP silicon validation and production release. You are a strategic thinker who empowers your team to independently drive tasks to completion, while providing the guidance, structure, and accountability needed to deliver results across all programs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead a team of engineering staff, manage assignment, monitor workload, and drive post-Si activities.Be able to work in a high demand, fast paced environment with multiple real-time problem solving and critical thinking.Deploy post-silicon debug infrastructure (software, hardware, automation environment, and lab setup)Lead collaborative technical discussions to drive resolution on technical issues and roll out technical initiatives.Create plans for IP validation executionEstablish deliverable requirements, milestones, and metricsTrack execution/debug progressDetermine and align schedules with peer groups and internal customersImplement change control and issue management processesCoordinate with Debug, Platform, FW, and ATE validation teams on plans and executionProvide status and issue updates to internal managers and program leadershipDrive continuous improvement and lessons learnedPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Management or technical leadership experienceKnowledge of computer hardware architecture (CPU/APU, x86, PCIe, memory, bus logic) and software architecture (driver, bios, firmware usage)Familiar with high-speed I/O technologies and protocolsExperience developing validation methodologies and infrastructure.Test plan and test development experienceParticipated in silicon bring up and debug, support to internal engineering teams.Able to execute and drive success of programs with multiple projects on the go.Debug skills at IP/system levelExcellent organizational and communication skillsPassion to win; drive to make a differenceAbility to function (thrive) in a dynamic environmentKnowledge of tools of the trade; Office365, issue ticket systems, web-based collaborative toolsIP or SOC design or validation background preferredDemonstrate diligence, leadership, and judgmentExcellent interpersonal skillsACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.LOCATION: Markham, Vancouver#LI-TB2#LI-HYBRIDBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
