THE WORK:

Stakeholder Engagement and Public Outreach

• You'll lead day-to-day stakeholder engagement and communications programs supporting large-scale infrastructure and capital projects.
• You'll serve as a trusted advisor to public agency clients, project teams, and contractors, providing strategic communications and stakeholder engagement guidance.
• You'll develop and implement outreach strategies that foster understanding, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships with communities, businesses, elected officials, and other key stakeholders.
• You'll prepare clear, compelling communications materials and executive-level messaging that translate complex technical information into accessible, audience-focused content.
• You'll manage public meetings, community events, stakeholder inquiries, and issue resolution efforts to support project objectives and stakeholder satisfaction.
• You'll analyze stakeholder feedback and provide strategic recommendations to clients and project leadership to inform decision-making and project delivery.
• You'll confidently present project updates, engagement strategies, and recommendations to executive leadership, elected officials, governing boards, and public audiences.
• You'll develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare progress reports to measure program effectiveness and communicate results to clients.
• You'll identify stakeholder, reputational, and political risks and support the development of proactive mitigation strategies.

Business Development and Practice Growth

• You'll build and maintain relationships with public agencies, contractors, teaming partners, and industry organizations throughout California.
• You'll identify and support the pursuit of new business opportunities across transportation, transit, water, energy, and public infrastructure markets.
• You'll lead and contribute to proposal development, qualifications packages, interview presentations, and grant applications.
• You'll develop persuasive technical narratives, executive summaries, and win themes that strengthen pursuit strategies and proposal submissions.
• You'll contribute to capture planning, market research, and account development activities that support business growth objectives.
• You'll represent Accenture at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen market presence, expand relationships, and generate new opportunities.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, Journalism, Project Management, Urban Planning, or a related field. 

• 8–10 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, communications, government relations, or community outreach. 

• Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting infrastructure, construction, transportation, or other capital projects. 

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience writing proposals, bids, grant applications, or other persuasive business documents. 

• Willingness to travel up to 25% or depending on client needs. 

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

• Experience working in a government office, legislative office, construction management consulting, public agency, or government relations role. 

• Familiarity with California public agencies and procurement processes. 

• Knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and public participation requirements. 

• Portfolio of writing samples, proposals, or communications materials. 

• Graphic design management and content creation. 

• Social media and metric management.
