Gingerbread Littleversity  is a licensed childcare center seeking a School Age Teacher  to support our K-5 classrooms!

To be  QUALIFIED  for the Teacher role, we require a completed bachelor's or associate's degree in early childhood or elementary education OR a completed bachelor's degree or an associate's degree with 12 credits of early/elementary childhood education credits or their equivalent OR an individual who is currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program in early/elementary childhood education. We can consider applicants who have their early childhood credentials and experience. The ability to pass all background checks is also required.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 9:30am OR 1:00pm- 6:00pm OR 6:30am - 9:30am AND 1:00pm- 6:00pm (can do either part-time or full-time)

Please note the School Age Teacher will be required to drive the passenger van. Applicants must also be 21+ years of age.

Compensation: $15 - $18 per hour , based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process:

2. Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes)
3. On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes)

   2. Classroom observation

Main Job Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the supervision of school age children and meeting the daily physical, emotional and social needs of the children in their care.
• Responsible for driving children to and from school and occasionally for classroom field trips.
• Arrange Lesson Plans and curriculum on a weekly basis in coordination with the monthly theme and that meet the developmental needs of the children and that meet the expectations of SACERS (School Age Care Environmental Rating Scales).
• Responsible for establishing a professional level of communication with each family member to provide quality care for each child. On-going communication in all aspects relating to the children in their room with the parents and the Center Director is crucial for quality care.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
