Role Description The Physician Assistant Certified will provide direct patient care to geriatric patients. This full-time role includes performing patient assessments, obtaining medical histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. The PA will manage chronic conditions common in older adults, provide medication management, and offer preventive care and health education to patients and families. Daily responsibilities also include documenting encounters in the medical record, coordinating care with interdisciplinary team members, and supporting transitions of care between settings. The role may involve participation in quality improvement initiatives, adherence to regulatory requirements, and engagement in ongoing professional development related to geriatrics.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and active, unrestricted PA license in California, or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
• Clinical experience in geriatrics, internal medicine, family medicine, or related primary care specialties, with an interest in caring for older adult populations.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, differential diagnosis, and management of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular, endocrine, neurologic, and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and use of electronic health records, with attention to accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex medical information clearly to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Collaborative approach to working within interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrated commitment to person-centered, culturally sensitive, and non-discriminatory care for diverse patient populations.
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program; advanced training or certification in geriatrics is preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize clinical tasks, and adapt to a dynamic clinical environment in an on-site setting.
• CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS certification and experience with quality improvement or population health initiatives are beneficial.
