Junior/Mid-Level GIS Analyst

Initial Training: 100% Onsite for the First 30 Days Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM CST Duration: 6-Month Contract Potential: Extension and/or Contract-to-Hire Job Summary We are seeking a GIS Analyst to support the development, maintenance, analysis, and delivery of geospatial data and applications within a growing geospatial program. The ideal candidate will have 1–2+ years of GIS experience with strong hands-on knowledge of Esri ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online (AGOL)/Portal for ArcGIS, mapping, and Esri mobile applications . This position will support geospatial data management, mapping, field data collection, application deployment, data quality, and GIS process improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to develop practical GIS solutions and support field operations. Key Responsibilities Gather, organize, classify, and analyze GIS and remotely sensed data, including imagery, video, multispectral data, and LiDAR. Create, maintain, and update GIS maps and geospatial datasets using Esri ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online (AGOL)/Portal for ArcGIS . Configure, publish, and maintain web and mobile GIS applications for field and internal users. Deploy and support Esri mobile applications , including ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 . Perform QA/QC of field-collected and geospatial datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and data quality. Develop production maps, reports, geospatial image products, and data packages for internal and external stakeholders. Support the collection and management of field data through mobile GIS applications. Develop and apply GIS solutions to meet business and customer requirements. Assist with the management, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GIS environments, applications, and related software. Diagnose and resolve GIS application, data, mapping, and workflow issues. Support the integration of new GIS processes and technologies into the organization's geospatial framework. Assist with developing and delivering training for GIS application and system users. Collaborate with GIS professionals, field teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver effective geospatial solutions. Support emergency response and storm restoration activities, including GIS-based damage assessment and field data collection when required. Participate in occasional field visits and work outdoors over rough terrain and in varying weather conditions during emergency restoration activities. Maintain strong documentation, organization, and communication throughout GIS projects and support activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in GIS, Geography, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or a related technical field . 1–2+ years of hands-on GIS experience . Hands-on experience with Esri ArcGIS products . Strong experience with ArcGIS Online (AGOL) and/or Portal for ArcGIS . Experience with Esri mobile applications , preferably ArcGIS Field Maps and/or Survey123 . Experience configuring, publishing, or deploying GIS maps/applications for mobile or field users. Experience with GIS mapping, geospatial data management, and data analysis. Experience performing GIS data QA/QC and troubleshooting GIS-related issues. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with technical teams, field personnel, and business stakeholders. Ability to work onsite in St. Charles, MO four days per week after the initial training period. Must be willing and available to participate in 24/7/365 emergency and storm-response on-call support when required. Ability to perform occasional field work, including walking over rough terrain and working outdoors during emergency situations. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 . Experience with ArcGIS ModelBuilder . Experience with FME / Safe Software . Experience supporting utility, electric, energy, infrastructure, or asset-management GIS environments. Experience with remote-sensing data such as RGB imagery, video, multispectral imagery, LiDAR, and orthophotos . Experience with storm restoration, damage assessment, field inspections, or emergency response GIS. Experience developing or supporting GIS web applications and field-data collection workflows. 3 Must-Have Skills 1. ArcGIS Online (AGOL) / Portal for ArcGIS Hands-on experience creating, managing, publishing, or supporting GIS content and applications through AGOL/Portal. Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, ArcGIS Collector, or similar Esri mobile GIS applications , including configuration or deployment for field users. 3. 24/7 Storm / Emergency On-Call Availability Willingness to participate in occasional emergency and storm-response support, including potential field-based damage assessment activities. Work Schedule & Location Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM CST First 30 days: 100% onsite in St. Charles, MO for training. After training: Primarily hybrid, with 4 days onsite per week . Potential remote flexibility may become available after approximately 30–45 days , based on performance and business needs. Occasional field visits may be required. Occasional 24/7 emergency/storm-response support is required, although these situations are infrequent. 6-Month Contract Potential extension Potential contract-to-hire/conversion opportunity W2 $25/hr St. Charles, MO Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on GIS professional who can work independently with ArcGIS, AGOL/Portal, and Esri mobile applications , understands GIS data quality and mapping workflows, and is comfortable supporting field operations.
