The Opportunity In this full-time, on-site role, the Behavioral Health Technician provides direct support to clients working through Greater Boston Addiction Centers treatment programs. Reporting within the Operations department, you'll play a hands‑on role in helping clients feel safe, supported, and understood throughout their recovery journey, while helping the clinical team maintain accurate documentation and a stable treatment environment. This role follows a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with a potential stipend available for evening shifts. What You’ll Do Support clients through daily program activities with a nonjudgmental, empathetic approach Actively listen to clients and build rapport and trust to support engagement in treatment Observe and accurately document client behavior, mood, and any signs of crisis, withdrawal, or relapse Maintain clear, professional documentation and charting in accordance with facility standards Communicate effectively with both clients and the clinical team to support continuity of care Recognize and respond calmly to mental health crises or agitation, using de‑escalation techniques as needed Respect and support clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences Apply a basic working knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders, including the 12‑step model, in day‑to‑day client interactions Requirements What You Bring Required: High School Diploma or GED Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to actively listen without judgment Ability to build rapport and trust with clients Basic understanding of mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and the 12‑step model Ability to remain calm under pressure and skilled in de‑escalating conflict or agitation No prior experience required Ability to successfully pass a background check and pre‑employment drug screening Reliable availability for a Tuesday through Saturday schedule Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with clients throughout a shift Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Prior experience in a behavioral health, substance use treatment, or related human services setting Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) system Compensation and Schedule Full-time, on-site position in Needham, MA Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday Potential stipend available for evening shifts Pay range: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour This opportunity is posted by Atlantic Health Strategies on behalf of Greater Boston Addiction Centers (GBAC) #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlanticbehavioral
