MANUAL MACHINIST 
Automation Personnel Services is looking for a  Manual Machinist for a company based in Columbus, MS. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work for a company that offers a wide range of services and resources including a full-service machine shop.

Pay Rate
$25.00 to $34.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday, 7 30 am to 4 00 pm. 

Manual Machinist Duties and Responsibilitie s

• Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.
• Set up, adjust, and operate machine tools such as calipers, micrometers, and milling machines to make or rework metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exact tolerances and dimensions
• Using a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Positions materials by using an overhead crane.
• May perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.
• Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
• Observes all Safety rules and regulations and keeps the work area clean and orderly

Manual Machinist Qualifications  and Requirements  

• Degree in Precision Manufacturing and Machining Technology or 2-5 years of job-related experience preferred.
• Must be able to use micro meters and calibers/ mechanically inclined and very reliable.
• Willingness and ability to work any shift and overtime when required.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, safety training, background and drug and alcohol screen. Please be aware that Glenn has a comprehensive drug policy, which includes random testing.
• Must have dependable transportation.
