Director of Youth Ministries- Mauldin UMC Seeking a Director of Youth Ministries for Mauldin United Methodist Church in Mauldin, SC A large, active, and energized youth program awaits the next Director of Youth Ministries at Mauldin United Methodist Church. This ministry position will develop, lead, and maintain youth programs, ensuring alignment with the Church mission of Living in Christ, Loving all People . Responsibilities: Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement all youth activities in cooperation with other activities of the church. Cultivate relationships with the youth, youth families, and the community. Lead a Youth Ministry Team made up of youth, young adults, parents, counselors/interns, and other church leadership. Meet with Youth Ministry Team to determine budget requests. Recruit, train, counsel, and guide volunteer counselors and other adults for leadership and mentorship within this ministry. Provide individual counseling and guidance to youth and/or parents as needed. Work with parents (and guardians) in cooperative ways when issues arise. Communicate with youth and their families via social media. Be visible in the community by attending and/or participating in school functions, student activities, community wide events and outreach opportunities. Assist in training and promote adherence to Safe Sanctuary policies. Work in cooperative/collaborative relationship with the Senior Pastor. Commitment to supporting the overall vision and mission of Mauldin United Methodist Church: Living in Christ, Loving all People . The ideal candidates have: A Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education/Youth Ministry or related field preferred. Three to five years’ experience in youth ministry of a large church preferred. Strong interpersonal, managerial, and organizational skills. Willingness to work with a diverse staff. A commitment to the Christian faith. A sincere call to youth ministry and the development of disciples for Christ. Mauldin is a suburb of Greenville in the upstate of South Carolina and is considered one of South Carolina’s fastest growing cities.
