Hodges, Loizzi, Eisenhammer, Rodick & KohnLLPhires second-year law students for its summer associate program and third-year law students for entry-level associate positions. We look for students with strong academic credentials andexcellent oral advocacy and writing skills who have the potential of becoming one of our partners. During the fall recruiting season, we visit law schools in and around Illinois to interview second- and third-year law students, depending on our hiring needs. To helpour associates besuccessful at the firm, each associate is assigned to a partner who closely monitors the associate’s progress. Through this mentoring program, associates receive feedback on theirperformance on a project-by-project basis andthrough an annualcomprehensive written evaluation. Our firm offers first-year associates the opportunity to receive assignments in each of the firm’s practice areas. Associates rotate through each of the firm’s practice areas and attend each practice group’s meetings during the respective rotating cycle. First-year associates are allowed to complete projects in the other practice group areas during rotation. As associates express a preference in particular areasof law, the firmis sensitive to thosepreferences and attempts to develop an associate’s expertise inthose areas of interest. Summer Associates Our firm offers summer associates a range of experiences that allows them towork in each of the firm’s practice areas. Summer associates have the opportunity to observeor participate in a variety of settings, including board meetings, special education team meetings, client meetings, court and administrative hearingmatters, real estate closings, and collective bargaining negotiations. Summer associates attend the practice group meetings for each of our practice groups as well as our continuing legal education seminars.
