Senior Sap Abap Developer
Location: Martinez, CA / Parsippany, NJ (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 per year
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer to design, develop, and support custom SAP solutions across enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in ABAP programming, SAP integration technologies, performance optimization, and SAP HANA. You will work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver scalable, high-quality SAP solutions while supporting upgrades, migrations, and production environments.
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP programming, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms (RICEF).
- Extensive experience with Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP).
- Hands-on experience with ABAP Workbench tools such as SE80, SE38, SE11, SE37, and related development tools.
- Strong knowledge of SAP Enhancement Framework, including User Exits, BADIs, Customer Exits, and Enhancement Points.
- Experience developing SmartForms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms.
- Hands-on experience with RFCs, BAPIs, IDocs, ALE, and Web Services.
- Strong understanding of ABAP performance tuning, SQL optimization, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 integration and OData Services.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA, CDS Views, and HANA-optimized ABAP development.
- Experience supporting SAP upgrades, migrations, and system enhancements.
Design, develop, and maintain custom SAP ABAP applications based on business requirements. Develop RICEF objects including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms. Implement enhancements using SAP standard enhancement frameworks. Design and maintain interfaces between SAP and external applications using RFC, BAPI, IDoc, and Web Services. Develop SmartForms, SAPscript, and Adobe Forms for business reporting and document generation. Analyze, optimize, and tune ABAP programs for improved system performance. Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions. Participate in unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution, and deployment activities. Support SAP upgrades, migrations, and HANA optimization initiatives. Prepare technical documentation and ensure compliance with SAP development standards and best practices. Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and deliver timely resolutions for ABAP-related incidents.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience. Strong expertise in OOABAP, SAP integration technologies, and SAP development standards. Experience working with SAP HANA, CDS Views, and modern SAP development methodologies. Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
