The Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty in Bowie, MD is hiring a full‑time Veterinary Technician to join our ICU team on the overnight shift! Sign‑on bonus offered for qualified Registered Veterinary Technicians! Compensation $26–30+/hr (based on experience & skill set) PLUS a 10% overnight shift differential Schedule 3/12‑Hour Shifts per week Overnights Weekends, Holidays, and On‑Call as needed Requirements Shares our commitment to our mission, vision, and values. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred but not required) Demonstrated excellence in nursing care and critical thinking skills Strong desire to learn and grow in the role. Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast‑paced, high‑intensity environment. Required Skills & Experience Proficient in calculating doses and administering intravenous drugs and fluids Capable of monitoring patients under anesthesia (ventilator experience is a plus!) Skilled in obtaining and analyzing laboratory samples (blood, urine, and stool) Expertise in interpreting meows, barks, and chirps—telepathic skills are a plus! Experience in catheter placement Possesses the stamina of an athlete to keep up with lively kitties and energetic puppies Strong time management, initiative, and task prioritization skills Compensation and Benefits Compensation is based on experience and skill level ranging from $26.00 - 30.00+/hr Overnight shift differential offered!
