Our mission-driven team works relentlessly to equip students with the skills, habits, and confidence to succeed and to positively impact their communities.**Position Summary**As a Paraprofessional (Teacher’s Assistant) at AMS, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and ensuring all students have the tools they need to succeed. Working side by side with highly skilled educators, you will provide individualized and small-group support to scholars, assist with classroom management, and help foster a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, eager to work directly with students, and considering a long-term career in teaching or school leadership.**Key Responsibilities*** Support lead Teachers in delivering instruction by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions.* Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce skills, reteach concepts, and support individualized learning plans.* Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect and engagement.* Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues uninterrupted.* Prepare instructional materials, set up classroom resources, and assist with grading or documentation as directed.* Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students.* Model professionalism, respect, and high expectations in every interaction with students, staff, and families.**Qualifications & Competencies**Required:* High School Diploma or equivalent and successful completion of the paraprofessional exam, *OR* Associate’s degree (or higher).* Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth-focused setting.Preferred:* Bilingual in English and Spanish.* Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.Ideal Candidate Attributes:* Passion for working with students in diverse and underserved communities.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with adults and children.* Patience, adaptability, and a team-oriented mindset.* Reliability and a strong sense of responsibility.Why Work at AMS?* Competitive pay with opportunities for bonus compensation.* Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and retirement with employer contributions.* Paid time off (PTO) and supportive work-life balance policies.* Ongoing professional development including training, coaching, and professional learning communities.* Collaborative, mission-driven culture with supportive leaders and dedicated colleagues.* Career growth and advancement opportunities as AMS continues to expand across Arizona and beyond.* The opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of students who may not otherwise have access to a high-quality education.Join us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
