Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $27.41 - $44.99 (based on a full time schedule of 40 hours per week). Please note that the final offer will vary based on scheduled hours. Compensation for part-time or reduced schedules will be prorated based on scheduled weekly hours, experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity considerations.

Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, On Call - Required, Weekends - Every Fourth Weekend

Scheduled Hours: 6:45am-5:15pm

Shift: 1 - Day Shift, 10 Hours (United States of America)

Purpose & Primary Functions

The Surgical Tech handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Duties as follows:

• Checks Supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure, such as scrubs, gowns and gloves.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for surgery.
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed.

Position Qualifications

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

• BLS Certification
• Surgical Technologist certification required

Education:

• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program

Other Qualifications:

• Well organized and possess high degree of manual dexterity
• 3 years experience in a hospital-based surgical service preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service and communication skills required
• OR equivalent combination of the above
