You won't be watching from the sidelines — you'll be collecting real-time force plate data, analyzing movement patterns, and helping drive the feedback loop that shapes how elite pitchers train. As a Sports Science Data Intern at Tread Athletics, you'll gain hands‑on experience with the same tech used by top performance labs — including VALD force plates, force frames, InBody scans, and athlete readiness surveys — all while learning how data directly influences decision‑making at the highest level. This internship isn't about fetching coffee or sitting on the sidelines. Responsibilities: Data Collection: Assist in setting up and operating equipment such as force plates, motion capture systems, and other performance monitoring tools during athlete performance testing. Data Management: Ensure accurate recording, labeling, and storage of collected data for subsequent analysis. Collaboration: Work alongside our performance team to help problem‑solve better scheduling systems and operations. Equipment Maintenance: Participate in the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of sports science equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Reporting: Contribute to the creation of reports and presentations that communicate data insights to the performance team.
