Locum Tenens Physician - Correctional Facility (Portage, WI) On-site correctional medicine role with competitive weekly pay ($4,660-$5,000), consistent weekday schedule, and requirement for an active Wisconsin medical license. Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,660 - $5,000 Location: Portage, WI 53901 (Portage, Wisconsin) - enjoy a welcoming community with scenic lakes and outdoor recreation Setting: Correctional facility / correctional medicine (corrections physician role) Assignment Duration: 26 weeks (06/22/2026 - 12/19/2026) Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - consistent weekday schedule Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour days) Hours per Week: 32 On-Site Position: In-person at the correctional facility Orientation: 2 weeks in Racine, WI (travel required for orientation) Key Qualifications Active Wisconsin medical license (required at time of application) MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) Minimum 1 year clinical experience preferred - experience in correctional medicine, primary care, emergency medicine, or family medicine is a plus Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary team collaboration Commitment to complete the required 2-week orientation in Racine, WI Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care to adult male patients within the correctional facility (inmate health/prison healthcare) Perform physical examinations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop evidence-based treatment plans Collaborate with nursing, mental health, and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care Maintain accurate, timely medical records in accordance with facility policies and state regulations Participate in case management and discharge planning to support safe reintegration into the community Adhere to institutional protocols, infection control procedures, and Wisconsin state regulations related to correctional healthcare Benefits GHR Healthcare offers 401K with Matching, Healthcare, Dental and Vision to Employees.
